Elizabeth Gilbert: Everyday Hero

Liz has been a CASA volunteer for almost 20 years serving Steuben County! She has advocated for over 50 children! She and her husband were foster parents for 30 years, then segued into being CASA volunteers. Her husband, Stan served with her as a volunteer until he passed away in 2013. She and Stan had been married for 56 years. She has a large family, with nine children (birth and adopted) and over sixty members in her immediate family.

Liz is a retired first-grade teacher. She is active in her local church, where she serves as the church organist. She is a member of the Little River A Capella Show Chorus and sings in barbershop quartets. She also serves as the Church Relations Project Leader for the Operation Christmas Child shoebox program.
She is an active supporter of Relay for Life and Right to Life. She considers herself to be a voracious reader, especially enjoying non-fiction books. She enjoys writing, including creating parodies for the Little River chorus. One of her stories has been accepted by the Guideposts publication. She also enjoys traveling. She has visited all 50 states as well as nine countries. Liz likes to make people laugh.

Christie Browning

Christie is a five-time HSPA award-winning writer with a long resume of creative, compelling writing. Her background includes journalism and marketing, which allows her to bring a specialized voice to the pieces created for her clients. On her own, Christie has written for newspapers, online magazines and major publications. For her clients, Christie produces web designs, press and media releases, blog articles, downloadable worksheets and flyers as well as social media content. Her long-time career as an entrepreneur gives her unique insight into what her clients need to promote their products, services and messages.
